Common questions

Do I need a seats.aero account?

No. Without one, AwardGrid shows sample data only: search, the List, Calendar and Matrix views, option details, compare, Saved and Watches all work on sample data made on your iPhone, labelled as sample data, and nothing is sent. If you have a seats.aero account with API access, you can connect it in Settings to see results from that account instead.

How do I connect my seats.aero account?

In AwardGrid, open Settings › seats.aero account and tap Connect seats.aero. It opens seats.aero's own sign-in (Login with Seats.aero), where you sign in to seats.aero and approve AwardGrid. AwardGrid never sees your password. You can disconnect at any time, in AwardGrid or in your seats.aero settings.

My seats.aero account has no API access. Will AwardGrid work?

Only on sample data. seats.aero decides which accounts have API access; AwardGrid sells nothing. Without API access, AwardGrid shows sample data only. AwardGrid depends on seats.aero's Partner API and connects to your seats.aero account through seats.aero's own sign-in (Login with Seats.aero); seats.aero's terms apply to that account.

Why does a search use seats.aero calls?

Each search on your seats.aero account goes from the iPhone directly to seats.aero, and seats.aero counts the calls against a daily limit. The app stops at 950 of seats.aero's 1,000 daily calls and caches results for 45 minutes, so repeating a search costs no calls. The app's own count restarts at midnight UTC, when seats.aero resets usage. Sample data uses no seats.aero calls.

How long are results from my seats.aero account kept?

AwardGrid keeps results from your seats.aero account only in memory while the app runs; it never writes them to its files. Saved keeps your queries; opening a saved query whose results are gone searches again.

What does an empty result mean?

An empty result means seats.aero has no cached availability for that route and day, which can also mean seats.aero does not monitor the route. Results are seats.aero's cached availability, not a live search, so no result there is not the same as no seats.

When are watches checked?

When you open the app or come back to it, and at no other time. iOS cannot promise to run an app while you are not using it, so AwardGrid does not claim to. Watches keep their conditions. What a watch last saw is kept like the other results from your account: only in memory while the app runs. When it is gone, the first check after that sets a new baseline, and later checks compare with it.

Are the results live?

They are seats.aero's cached availability, with how old each result is. Awards disappear; confirm on the program's own site before you transfer any points.

How do I disconnect, or remove my data?

Disconnect in Settings › seats.aero account: it removes sign-in tokens and clears current account results. Saved query conditions and watches stay. If tokens or older stored data cannot be cleared, the app says so on screen. You can also remove AwardGrid's access in your seats.aero settings. Clear cached results in Settings. Exit sample data to delete everything sample data kept. The privacy policy lists everything the app keeps and sends.

需要 seats.aero 账户吗？

来自我的 seats.aero 账户的结果会保留多久？

AwardGrid 只在应用运行期间把来自你的 seats.aero 账户的结果保存在内存中，从不写入它的文件。收藏会保留你的查询；打开结果已不在的收藏查询时，会重新查票。

结果为空是什么意思？

结果为空，表示 seats.aero 没有这条航线在那一天的缓存数据，也可能是 seats.aero 没有监测这条航线。结果来自 seats.aero 的缓存，并非实时查询，所以那里没有结果不等于没有座位。

关注什么时候检查？

在你打开或回到应用时检查，其他时间不会。iOS 无法保证应用在你没有打开它时运行，所以 AwardGrid 不作这样的承诺。关注会保留条件。关注上次看到的结果与你账户的其他结果一样，只在应用运行期间保留在内存中。这些结果不在后，之后的首次检查会重新建立基线，再之后的检查与它比较。

结果是实时的吗？

结果是 seats.aero 的缓存数据，并注明每条结果的数据时间。里程票随时会消失；转点前请先在里程计划官网确认。

如何断开连接或删除数据？

在“设置 › seats.aero 账户”中断开连接：这会移除登录令牌并清除当前账户结果，收藏的查询条件和关注会保留。令牌或旧版数据如无法清除，应用会在屏幕上说明。你也可以在 seats.aero 设置中移除 AwardGrid 的访问权限。在设置中清除缓存结果。退出示例数据即可删除示例数据保存的全部内容。隐私政策列出了应用保存和发送的全部内容。
